Mercato Trattoria Pop
Typology: trattoria / hospitality
Where: Italy
Project by: David Secchi & Caterina Abbrugiati
In the heart of Senigallia, Mercato Trattoria Pop reimagines the idea of a popular trattoria with a contemporary approach: meat, conviviality, and attention to detail.
The flooring, made of a special terrazzo cement mix, incorporates rubble from the 2016 Central Italy earthquake, the result of an innovative collaboration between the University of Camerino and Grandinetti S.r.l. This “eco-resilient” material gives new life to debris, shaping the chromatic palette and atmosphere of the entire venue. The durable and tactile surfaces, marked by irregular textures and veins, create a warm and authentic visual backdrop that enhances both modern furnishings and the restaurant’s local soul.
